Creativity Meets Resourcefulness

Casual Films brought me on to handle editing and motion graphics for a large project creating training videos for iHOP. The project included dozens of videos, thousands of images, timed graphics - all requiring careful attention to detail and meticulous organization. Many of them needed to be translated into Spanish, and my working knowledge of the language came in handy when it came to timing and even editing the translations across each video. I also had the opportunity to apply my knowledge of expressions in After Effects, using them to create mogrts for the many text and icon graphics in the videos.

Making Mogrts with Expressions

Before // Creating the expression

I was able to find and apply an expression that enabled me, with a few tweaks, to manipulate a single keyframe using a slider. Putting the slider into the exported mogrt meant I could change where the animated element ended up on the screen, without affecting any of the animation keyframes that brought it into the screen. Big thanks to the Adobe Support Community and the different solutions offered there to this particular problem!
